What a build carries

A construction project makes paper faster than anything else: call-offs, method statements, permits, drawings and handover packs. The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 ask for a construction phase plan, competent contractors and a health and safety file at the end. SAMRISK gives each project one place for that work as it happens, so at handover the evidence is already there, versioned and dated.

Questions.

Can several subcontractors have access?: Yes. Invite each person; Business includes 50, and each extra person is £5 a month. Everyone in the company can see all its buildings, so keep projects for different clients in separate companies.
We move from project to project. Can we archive an old one?: Yes. Set the building to archived. It leaves the active list and its records stay.
Where do risk assessments and method statements go?: In Documents, in a folder for each contractor or trade, with every version kept. Check them before you issue a permit.
We are building a higher-risk building. Should we use the safety case during construction?: It helps. Golden thread information gathered as you build is easier to hand to the accountable person than information rebuilt after completion.
Can we hand the building over to the operations team?: Today a building stays in the company that created it. If the operator joins your company, the assets, documents, audits and contractor records are already there. Talk to us if ownership changes.
