What a care home carries

A care home carries the usual premises duties, fire risk, water, gas, electrics and lifting equipment, with a higher stake: many residents cannot leave on their own. Equipment that lifts people needs a thorough examination every six months, staff training has to stay in date and everyone in the building has to be known in an emergency.

Questions.

Does this get us ready for a Care Quality Commission inspection?: It does not replace your inspection preparation or your care records. It keeps the premises evidence in one place, such as audits, equipment checks, training certificates, contractor insurance and incident records.
Do all our care staff need a login?: Pro holds 15 people, enough for managers, deputies, the maintenance lead and the activities coordinator. Care assistants only need a login if they log incidents themselves.
Where do personal emergency evacuation plans go?: Personal emergency evacuation plans (PEEPs) and evacuation drills are part of the safety case tool, £149 a month. People in your company can read them; only managers and admins can add or change them. Many homes keep PEEPs in their care records instead.
We have a separate dementia wing. Is it a different building?: It can be the same building with its own spaces on the floor plan. Assets are placed in the space they sit in. Floor plans come with Pro.
